WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Season 3 of You, now streaming on Netflix.

As Season 3 of Netflix’s You charts marriage for Penn Badgley’s Joe Goldberg and Love in the suburb of Madre Linda, their lust for other partners and their desire to protect skeletons in their closets mean people have to die. As such, let’s detail who perishes this season as the rash couple gets back into the swing of things to keep their fake world going.

Joe and Love’s Neighbor, Natalie, Doesn’t Last Long

Natalie dies in You Season 3

Many thought Natalie Engler would last a few episodes after Joe decided not to pursue an affair with her. However, she dies at the end of Episode 1, “And They Lived Happily Ever After,” after Love finds Joe’s keepsake box with stuff like Natalie’s underwear. A jealous Love doesn’t care if Joe just fantasizes; she believes adultery has been committed.

Love plots for Natalie, a real estate agent, to give her a tour of a unit that eventually becomes Love’s bakery, which ends with the jealous wife taking an axe to Natalie’s neck in one of the basement storage rooms. A broken Joe disposes of her body, first burying her out in the woods. He then shifts the body to a pit that’s to be filled by concrete the next day once they discover Natalie has a tech-ring she wore that tracks her whereabouts and vitals.

Gil’s Unvaccinated Kids Give Joe and Love’s Baby the Measles

Gil dies in You Season 3

When baby Henry is hospitalized with a severe case of measles, Gil visits Love’s bakery and apologizes. Even Joe suffered a bout of it, with Gil admitting he’s an anti-vaxxer and his unvaccinated kids spread it at a party. He’s nonchalant about it, which angers Love as she can’t afford to lose her son.

She already lost her brother, Forty, last season, and seeing as Henry’s middle name is Forty, grief drives her to smash Gil over the head with a rolling pin. They keep him in Joe’s glass cage, hoping to extract secrets to blackmail him if they let him out. Sadly, Gil hangs himself after the guilt of his his son being a sexual predator and his wife covering it up all sinks in. Love uses this, though, to frame Gil for Natalie’s death by placing his prints on the axe in the woods.

Joe Hates His Boss’ Abusive Ex, Ryan

Ryan dies in You Season 3

Joe’s new object of lust is Marienne, his boss at the library, so naturally, he grows to hate her abusive ex, the newscaster Ryan. The toxic jerk is pushing a bitter custody battle for their daughter Juliette by using his connections and white privilege, so in “Red Flag,” Joe, playing vigilante, removes Ryan from the situation.

Joe disguises himself and jumps Ryan in a parking lot, pushing him over the edge. Despite falling several stories to the ground, Ryan’s alive and taunting Joe about how he can’t finish the job. Ryan previously came off as an alpha, making Joe look like he was failing at seducing Marienne, so Joe’s lethal instinct kicks in and he stabs Ryan multiple times, fleeing the scene as a lady finds the corpse.

Joe Kills Love Before She Can Kill Him

Season 3 of You finds Joe killing Love and escaping Madre Linda

In the finale, “What Is Love?,” Love puts together how an infatuated Joe killed for an unwitting Marienne and was planning to elope with her and take Henry. Love drugs Joe at dinner, paralyzing him with aconite, which she also used to kill her former husband when he tried to leave. While this time she uses the correct dosage to keep Joe immobile, he predicted it and took adrenaline pills beforehand.

Joe feigns death and then injects Love with a lethal dose of the wolfsbane poison she was growing in her garden. He studied its chemistry online, as well as antidotes, and knows this overdose will kill Love, allowing him to frame her for all of Season 3’s murders and his own. It’s a foolproof plan as he escapes, but you do feel for Love because in her last breath, she makes it clear she thinks Joe was her soulmate in a disturbing end to their matrimony.

To see all the shocking deaths in Season 3 of You, it’s streaming now on Netflix.
