X-Men Teasers Line Up Inferno’s Major Players

[ad_1]

Marvel reveals new images by R.B. Silva and Jerome Opeña for Jonathan Hickman’s Inferno, a follow-up miniseries to House of X and Powers of X.

Marvel leaked some artwork for the upcoming X-Men limited series Inferno, getting readers ready for the kind of table-turning they can only expect from writer Jonathan Hickman.

Parading out the superhero-studded cast in sleek portraits by R. B. Silva, the promotion leads with the slogan, “Trust no one.” Longtime familiar favorites like Xavier and Colossus “can’t be trusted,” according to the captions. The “high-stakes mutant drama” promises to reveal secrets and shatter alliances as the “once bright future of mutantkind will be threatened like never before.” Silva’s images reinvent the original house ads for the 1989 X-Men crossover of the same name.

Advancing the storyline kicked off by Hickman’s two previous miniseries, Inferno “will provide the startling payoff to seeds planted in House of X and Powers of X.” He stated, “I’m very excited that we’re finally getting to share with everyone the follow-up to House of X/Powers of X. The story is 160 pages over four issues drawn exquisitely by Valerio Schiti, R.B. Silva and Stefano Caselli. I cannot wait for people to read it.”

Also released was the cover for Inferno #1 by Jerome Opeña, which not so subtly suggests the identity of the story’s mysterious villain. All three of Silva’s drawings will be available as a special cover for that issue as well.

Jonathan Hickman’s Inferno X-Men series will premiere in September.
