Windows 11 could support AMD Zen and Intel Kaby Lake CPUs after all

It was looking like it was all over for any CPU older than Intel’s 8th Gen and AMD’s Ryzen 2000-series chips in regards to Windows 11, forever to be locked out of the new OS. Thankfully, though, that might not actually be the case: Microsoft has confirmed it is looking into AMD Ryzen 1000-series and Intel 7th Gen CPU support with the release of the first Windows 11 insider build.

“As we release to Windows Insiders and partner with our OEMs, we will test to identify devices running on Intel 7th generation and AMD Zen 1 that may meet our principles,” the company states in a blog post.
