Who Won the Marvel Movie Heroes Fight?

[ad_1]

Shang-Chi and Iron Man are two of the most dangerous heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and these Avengers just went head-to-head in comics.

WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Shang-Chi #5, available now from Marvel.

Ever since inheriting control of his family’s Five Weapons Society criminal empire following his father’s demise, Shang-Chi has found himself walking a very fine line between hero and villain. Although he is working towards transforming the Five Weapons Society into something greater than it has been in centuries, the heroes he calls his allies aren’t all that sure the opposite isn’t the case. In fact, Shang-Chi’s reputation has deteriorated so much that Tony Stark just paid him a particularly aggressive visit.

The Five Weapons Society has been keeping its new Supreme Commander busier than ever, with everything seemingly turning into a complete and utter fiasco. When the Red Dot Collective stops by to try and peddle a stolen set of Iron Man armor, their impromptu business meeting turns into a firefight as soon as Shang-Chi tries to do the right thing. Of course, his malevolent guests are no match for the Five Weapons Society, and before long Shang-Chi is working on figuring out just how such powerful Stark Tech fell into the hands of a rival organization. As it turns out, he isn’t the only one trying to get to the bottom of that very same question, as proved by Tony Stark himself when he comes crashing through the window looking for his missing armor in the pages of Shang-Chi #5 by Gene Luen Yang, Dike Ruan, Triona Farrell, and VC’s Travis Lanham.

Shang-Chi vs Iron Man

As soon as Iron Man makes his explosive entrance, e begins lobbing accusations and threats towards his fellow Avenger. Unfortunately, Tony’s reckless break-in very nearly brought Shang-Chi’s mother to harm, sending the Master of Kung Fu into action against his longtime ally. In spite of Iron Man’s obvious technological advantage, Shang-Chi has his own by way of fighting on his home turf. What Tony thinks is an attempt to escape is actually a well-laid trap as Shang-Chi leads him straight for his training room, complete with weapons made from adamantium and vibranium.

Between his incredible martial arts prowess and being armed with weapons capable of breaking Tony Stark’s armor, Shang-Chi is finally able to convince his old friend to calm down, especially after stealing one of his gauntlets. The fact that Shang-Chi is so willing to open up a dialogue isn’t proof enough alone for Tony to relent, but his tune changes as soon as it is pointed out that he was the one who burst in and attacked without ever giving Shang-Chi the benefit of the doubt. Considering he could have just called ahead, it’s a harsh realization that even his fellow Avengers would jump to such devastating conclusions, though not one Shang-Chi couldn’t have seen coming.

Iron Man vs Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi has already been called out directly by the likes of Spider-Man and has faced off against another Avenger when he and Wolverine came to blows recently. Over the past few months, the only hero to have kept an unwavering faith in the Master of Kung Fu has been Captain America, yet even that is subject to change. Of course, Shang-Chi led his siblings to break into the lab of Reed Richards didn’t help his reputation, even if that was in a desperate bid to save his own family. In a grim twist of fate, Shang-Chi’s efforts to redeem his family’s legacy have jeopardized the heroic one he fought so hard to build for himself.
