Who Wins Between the Marvel and DC Powerhouses?

[ad_1]

When the Marvel and DC Universes collided, Wonder Woman and Juggernaut traded blows, only for DC’s Amazon hero to easily take down the X-Men villain.

The powerhouses of the DC and Marvel Universes have only gotten the chance to trade blows a relative handful of times, but each battle has revealed more about which figures are truly the strongest in their respective realities. And after Wonder Woman lost to Storm in Marvel and DC’s main ’90s crossover, the Amazon got a chance to redeem herself when she faced off against the X-Men villain Juggernaut.

When Wonder Woman and Juggernaut fought, they quickly settled the score over which one was stronger, as the classic DC hero easily defeated the powerful Marvel brawler.

Unlimited Access by Karl Kesel, Pat Olliffe, Al Williamson, Gregory Wright, and Jim Novak reintroduced Axel Asher, aka Access. Capable of traveling between the DC and Marvel Universes, Access made it his duty to ensure no chaos spreads from one to the other by maintaining the balance between the two different sets of multiverses. Typically living in the Marvel Universe, he ends up being responsible for keeping the heroes in their own separate worlds, in part to prevent the amalgamation of the worlds from happening again and combining Marvel and DC’s characters. He gets the chance to prove his powers to his girlfriend Ming when Mantis of the Fourth World arrives on their college campus, however, quickly confronted by Spider-Man. Despite the efforts of the hero, Mantis remains in the open when the Juggernaut is also teleported to the fight.

Working together, the pair come close to killing Spider-Man in the chaos, only for Wonder Woman to arrive on the scene and face off with the pair as well. Juggernaut is able to land a couple of good hits on Wonder Woman, and even fights her with enough intensity to have everything around them shaking from the brawl. But none of his hits are strong enough to truly slow down Wonder Woman, who keeps fighting with no sign of slowing down. Using her might, she’s able to punch off the Juggernaut’s helmet with ease, and — by timing their attacks — is even able to help Spider-Man knock out both villains by flinging them at one another at top speeds. It’s an impressive showing from Wonder Woman, especially considering the strength and endurance of the Juggernaut.

It takes entire Marvel teams to usually hold the Juggernaut at bay, and even then. they can usually just contain him. Wonder Woman was able to take him on with her bare hands and was able to knockout the Juggernaut with relative ease. Even without her lasso — which ends up around Mantis and gives a web-shooter-depleted Spider-Man a way to try and hold the villain at bay — Wonder Woman is able to contend with one of Marvel’s most unstoppable fighters. It’s especially impressive compared to how someone like Spider-Man has dealt with the Juggernaut before, with the wall-crawler forced to improvise and utilize various elements around them to even try and slow the Juggernaut down.

However, that could also be said to be a by-product of the differences between the Marvel and DC Universes. Superman also defeated Juggernaut with ease during their brief face-off during Marvel vs. DC. Still, it’s surprising to see one of Marvel’s single most powerful figures go down with relative ease. Especially when compared to each other, the duels between the DC and Marvel Universes can sometimes be decidedly one-sided.
