What If…?’s Captain Carter Fights Her Way Into Hot Toys

What If…?’s super soldier variant of Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter suits up and joins the Hot Toys line of collectible action figures.

Hot on the heels of her debut in What If…?, a highly detailed collector’s model of Captain Carter is now available for pre-order.

This news comes from a listing on Sideshow.com, which provides details on the sixth scale Hot Toys figure. The $235 collectible boasts “a newly developed head sculpt and interchangeable brown curly hair sculptures with stunning likeness, finely tailored outfit in red, blue, and white color scheme, Captain Carter’s signature shield, pistol, and figure stand.” Although it is up for purchase on the website, fans looking to get their hands on this figure will have to wait until early 2023 for the product to ship.

The pictures above depict Carter standing alongside the variant of Steve Rogers introduced in the same episode, “What If… Captain Carter Were the First Avenger?.” Some argue the episode delivered an even bleaker ending than Captain America: The First Avenger, with Steve and Peggy growing closer than they did in the original timeline, making their eventual separation all the more tragic. Captain Carter’s emotional vulnerability in these moment contrasted the great physical strength Peggy displayed as a super soldier.

This announcement ultimately begs the question, which of Carter’s fellow multiverse variants will join her in the Hot Toys range? With “What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?” establishing the sheer vastness of the multiverse, the possibilities appear to be endless.
