1.What initially inspired you to become a creator, and how has that inspiration evolved throughout your creative journey?
I initially wanted to share my love for RPGs and Visual Novels. That still hasn’t changed, but I added ASMR into the mix as well.
2.Can you share a specific moment or experience that fueled your passion for your current creative project?
I was (and am) still new to voice acting, so I wanted to practice. I thought filling ASMR scripts and voicing my own would help me with my voice acting. Now, I do it for the practice and fun!
3.What challenges have you encountered as an indie creator, and how have they shaped your approach to your work?
I am a small creator, so just being able to reach my target audience has always been difficult. With platforms changing their algorithms and changes in my niche, I have to adapt and research before posting my content if I want it to reach those interested.
4.Are there any particular creators who have significantly influenced your style or approach? How do you incorporate those influences into your own unique voice?
Not any in particular. Some creators have inspired me to make ASMR content in the first place, but not influenced my style.
5. How do you navigate the balance between staying true to your artistic vision and adapting to feedback from your audience or collaborators?
If it is something I am interested in and it fits my content, then I will do it.
6.Can you recall a memorable success story or milestone in your indie creator journey that stands out as a turning point for you?
The first time one of my ASMR videos reached 1k views. By that point, I was 7-8 months into making ASMR content. I was losing hope that maybe it just wasn’t for me. Then, one day one of my videos shot up and continued to grow until it eventually hit 1k. I remember refreshing my app, thinking it was a glitch.
7.What role do setbacks or failures play in your creative process, and how do you overcome them to keep moving forward?
I use them as research for my next video or next short term project. It helps me understand what my audience likes and dislikes, or what days and times to post.
8.How do you manage your time and energy to sustain a consistent creative output while juggling other aspects of life?
I have a loose schedule. Monday-Wednesday record ASMR and plan next short term projects, Thursday and Friday I edit those along with clips from VODs, Saturday and Sunday are purely relax days.
9.Have you found any unexpected joys or rewards in the indie creator community, and how has it contributed to your overall experience?
I wasn’t expecting such a tight knit community. Some have been with me for years or even before I was a VTuber when I did face cam streams.
10.If you could give one piece of advice to aspiring creators, what would it be based on your own lessons learned?
Take breaks when you need to, but remember that some of your community will wait for you, some will not. And that’s okay. As time goes on, people will move on with their lives. It does not mean you’re a bad creator. Keep going and don’t give up!
11. What are your thoughts on All Ages of Geek? What are some things we should change/do? What are some things you enjoy about our website?
Sharing news about what’s happening in the indie space is great, considering most news is centered around corporations.
I like the animations and effects on the website. It makes the site really pop!
12. Goals for 2024?
YouTube Partner (achieved!!!) and voice in a game or anime series!
