A cast of diverse actors will depict the live-action versions of the Bat-Family in Webtoon and DC’s Batman: Wayne Family Adventures.
The popular Webtoon comic Batman: Wayne Family Adventures is getting its first live-action adaptation with a diverse group of actors.
Ismahawk’s Danny Shepherd will direct the Batman: Wayne Family Adventures live-action adaptation, with Jeremy Le taking the title of director of photography. The three-part miniseries will debut on the Ismahawk YouTube channel later this month, with its first trailer debuting Oct. 11. CBR has confirmed DC is providing the license, making this an official DC project.
The official Ismahawk Twitter account shared a post announcing its collaboration with Webtoon. “We’re so excited to announce that we’re bringing BATMAN: WAYNE FAMILY ADVENTURES to life!” the post reads. “Adapted from the awesome @webtoonofficial series! Head to the YouTube channel to see it in 4K! & don’t forget to check out the Webtoon!”
Wayne Family Adventure‘s cast includes Jonathan Bentley as Bruce Wayne, Yoshi Sudarso (Buffalo Boys, Bullet Train) as Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Lisa Foiles (All That, Malcolm in the Middle), as Barbara Gordon/Oracle, Tim Neff (Echo 3, Outpost) as Jason Todd/Red Hood, Peter Sudarso (Supergirl, The Paper Tigers) as Tim Drake/Red Robin, Meghan Camarena (Power Rangers Hyperforce, Video Game High School) as Stephanie Brown/Spoiler, Gemma Nguyen (Phantom Breaker) as Cassandra Cain/Orphan, Carter Rockwood as Damian Wayne/Robin, D-Shaunt “Fik-Shun” Stegall (So You Think You Can Dance) as Duke Thomas/Signal and Marcus Weiss (Scrubs, Le Rêve) as Alfred Pennyworth.
The readership of Batman: Wayne Family Adventures has surpassed DC’s Batman comics combined, with the Webtoon drawing more than 400,000 readers in its first two days alone. Its first three episodes launched on Sept. 8 and has garnered over 615k subscribers as of this writing. Webtoon ambassadors have also released motion comic dubs of each episode, with a wide range of voice actors portraying members of the Bat-Family.
The trailer for the Batman: Wayne Family Adventures live-action adaption debuts Oct. 11 on Ismahawk’s YouTube channel.
