The WWE star made waves after the conclusion of SummerSlam 2021, entering the ring to repeatedly body slam an already defeated John Cena.
Brock Lesnar was not finished declaring victory at the end of last night’s WWE SummerSlam, and seized his opportunity to humble John Cena, delivering a coup de grâce as the pay-per-view event drew to a close.
Though not matched up for the series of fights nicknamed “The Biggest Party of the Summer,” Lesnar and Cena did some skirmishing after the final bell. Strutting into the ring to solidify his return to the WWE after over a year’s absence, Lesnar repeatedly body slammed Cena, who was already in a daze after his defeat by Roman Reigns. The antics were caught on video by a fan who shared the startling moment on social media.
The main event of SummerSlam 2021 was the showdown between Cena and Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship, resulting in Reigns retaining the title. Reigns won against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman at last year’s PPV event, Payback, clinching the championship for his second time. As Lesnar approached the beaten down Cena, Reigns lingered for a moment to size up the former world champion, ultimately vacating the area to allow Lesnar to provoke the crowd one last time. Having been a WWE regular for several seasons, Lesnar allowed his contract with WWE to lapse last year, resulting in a brief split that is now apparently over.
