The most recent leak for the upcoming Warner Bros. Multiversus platform fighting game reveals Rick and Morty and Adventure Time stages.
New leaks emerged for Warner Bros. Multiversus, giving away the game’s controls and stages.
According to leaked documentation, first posted by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate content creator PapaGenos which then made its way to ResetEra, Warner Bros. Multiversus will include a variety of stages pulled from the publisher’s extensive catalog of intellectual properties. The details reveal Finn and Jake’s treehouse from Adventure Time and a level themed around the Rick and Morty episode “Get Schwifty.” Minor alterations for each stage are also highlighted; “Tree Fort” features two designs with differing upper platforms. An original area that resembles a high-fantasy floating castle is also included in the papers.
Beyond the levels, the images also include a look at the game’s controls. The button layout section includes both controller and keyboard options, confirming that Warner Bros. Multiversus will be available on PC. It also highlights that the game will use a “Knock-Back Percentage” mechanic, akin to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.
A handful of character-specific gameplay details were also mentioned in PapaGenos’ leak. Every character will reportedly have alternative costumes that change their voice lines. Some of the outfits include Bizarro Superman, Batman: The Animated Series Harley Quinn, Pickle Rick and Gentleman Shaggy. Garnet (Steven Universe) and Arya Stark (Game of Thrones) are also included as playable fighters.
This isn’t the first major leak to focus on Warner Bros. Multiversus. The most significant report included a partial screenshot of the game’s roster. Players can expect to slug it out as Batman, Superman, Harley Quinn, Steven Universe, Finn, Jake, Shaggy, Wonder Woman, Gandalf, Rick Sanchez, Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry. Each character portrait includes a small icon in the upper right corner, suggesting that fighters will have unique roles and specialties. Initial rumors suggested that the game will feature a Tag Team system, allowing players to build custom teams of fighters with synergistic abilities.
Warner Bros. has yet to acknowledge the existence of Multiversus but every leak has swiftly been removed from the social media platform it was posted to. While this doesn’t act as confirmation, it certainly lends some credence to the rumors.
Warner Bros. Multiversus is arriving at just the right time for platform fighter enthusiasts. Since Super Smash Bros. Ultimate revealed that Kingdom Hearts‘ Sora will be the final character added to the game, there’s potential room for more competition as evidenced by the recent success of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.
