War: Johnny Depp Testifies ‘I’m Obsessed with the Truth’:

On Tuesday afternoon, Johnny Depp took the stand in his $50 million defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp is suing Heard for defamation after she implied in a 2018 column that he abused her.

Despite the fact that she did not name him, his lawyers argue that her accusations have made it harder for him to get film parts. Depp claims that the charges of assault have ruined his life.

Here is some of his testimony via The Independent: 

Depp says the abuse allegations turned him from “Cinderella to Quasimodo” in the eyes of others and have impacted his career. In his testimony he recalled a traumatic childhood with an abusive mother, his early career, and how Pirates of the Caribbean changed his life. He then recalled details of the beginning of his relationship with Heard.

Earlier, Depp’s friend and sound engineer Keenan Wyatt testified on behalf of the actor on Tuesday morning, recalling an incident in which Heard yelled at him on a private jet. The court also heard from security guard Sean Bett.

Heard has filed a $100m (£76.m) counterclaim against Depp for nuisance and immunity from her the actor’s allegations. Depp has previously lost a defamation case in the UK against The Sun newspaper over the same article by Heard.
