An upcoming Venom life-size bust by Queen Studios creates a commanding presence, depicting every terrifying detail of Marvel’s Lethal Protector.
An upcoming bust by Queen Studios brings Venom to life like never before.
This high-collectible is a life-size rendition of Eddie Brock in his signature symbiote suit, as he appeared during the height of the landmark Venom run of Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman. Only 576 copies of the bust will be made, and it will cost a hefty $1,290 dollars to own, though there are payment plan options that start at $430. The item will be available in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau and South Korea in the second quarter of 2022. However, fans outside of those countries can still order the bust through the Queen Studios website directory.
Measuring at just over 80 cm tall, 59 cm wide and 60 cm deep, the bust takes the terrifying presence of Marvel’s Lethal Protector and brings him into the homes of collectors. It is specially designed to emulate the art of Valerio Giangiordano which appeared on the Comics Elite exclusive variant cover to Venom #28. To do so, the sculptors at Queen Studios have spared no expense, crafting the piece out of polystone with resin flourishes that capture the heart of the character.
Venom’s eyes are painted with a chilling, attention-grabbing shade of bone white. If there was ever any doubt that Venom is the top of the food chain, this depiction of him should put that to rest, with sharp, layered teeth that have been specially coated to give them a pearlescent shine. Inching down, Venom’s unmistakeable tongue flails in the air, complete with dripping drool detailing. The base of the bust finishes the effect by spreading the symbiote all the way through to the bottom.
Since he first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #300, Venom has proven to be an incredibly popular character amongst collectors. As such, he has gotten his fair share of action figures and toys. He is set to receive a brand new Marvel Legends action figure during Hasbro Pulse Con, which recreates his appearance in the ’90s Spider-Man cartoon.
Next month marks a new era for Venom, in the wake of King in Black. Al Ewing, Ram V and Bryan Hitch will take over as the new creative team for the series, which follows Dylan Brock, the son of Eddie and Anne Weying. After gaining a symbiote suit of his own, Dylan seeks a life of heroism, despite Eddie’s warnings that it is more difficult than Dylan could possible imagine. Venom will be available on Nov. 10.
