Two new photos released by DC’s Titans on HBO Max reveal that Starfire and Nightwing will be donning their new suits for the Season 3 premiere.
Starfire and Nightwing are suiting up in the first episode of Titans Season 3.
Posted on the show’s official Twitter account, the two photos from the Season 3 premiere of HBO Max’s Titans show Dick and Kory donning their brand-new costumes. While Kory (portrayed by Anna Diop) seems ready to unleash her powers in a newly updated suit, Dick Grayson brandishes two batons in his Nightwing costume.
Dick Grayson (played by Brenton Thwaites) traded his Robin costume in for the sleek Nightwing look in Season 2, and Thwaites has teased that fans can expect several upgrades to his new costume in the upcoming season.
“We pitched a few ideas to change the suit in a way that we can still use the outline of the original suit because they are so time-consuming and expensive to make,” Thwaites said of his costume. “It’s better for us to enhance the one we’ve already got. We’re working on different ways for Nightwing to have more gadgets.”
On Starfire’s end, Kory’s new supersuit was unveiled in Nov. 2020 following the costume reveal of Curran Walters’ live-action Red Hood costume. Diop is the first-ever live-action Starfire, and while the character has previously worn pink hair with her old look, with this new iteration of her costume the character now sports a natural, dark brown. Designed by Laura Shannon, Starfire’s new costume can be seen in Titans Season 3, which premieres Aug. 12 on HBO Max.
Season 3 will introduce new threats as the Titan’s team continues to evolve, those threats including Kory’s sister, Blackfire. Created by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti, Titans debuted in 2018 and the first two seasons are currently streaming on HBO Max.
