Cats elicit various reactions from different people. To some, they’re something similar to deities. They are existences that are well aware of their societal positions and greatly believe that no other being is above them. Even so, some humans voluntarily and gratefully become their servants. They are charmed by their arrogance, and they take caressing these creatures’ soft fur as the greatest form of delight, even if that means receiving a scratch or two. This, of course, is only applicable to typical human beings. Have you ever wondered how superheroes would have handled such creatures?

The Marvel franchise has expanded and continues to expand as the years go by. They release a ton of movies and series that are still receiving great attention and support. With such a large plethora of characters, it’s easy to forget a few names and places. However, Marvel is doing a great job at re-introducing these characters and making them leave great impressions. Marvel Meow is somewhat like that. It’s a collection of short interactions between heroes and a higher being–a cat.

Why You Should Read Marvel Meow

1. Cats, Cats, and Cats

Obviously, this manga includes a lot of cats. Even though they’re facing the strongest beings on the planet, these creatures remain true to themselves. Their personalities haven’t changed, and they still are the arrogant pussies that they are. Interestingly, however, this is what makes all of this worthwhile. Because they are so arrogant and can’t be bothered with, these cats somehow make the heroes seem normal. They are humbled to be a lowly servant of a higher being, which makes them very relatable. After all, who won’t bow down to these divine balls of fur?

2. Brief Introduction to the Heroes of the Marvel Universe

This is just a short piece. It only has more than 70 pages, to be exact. While making us glee from delight, it does one more thing. It manages to cram and feature a lot of prominent personas in the Marvel universe in a short manga. To those unfamiliar with the franchise, most of these characters are nothing more than strangers. That being said, the short character explanations and introductions are a blessing to familiarize yourself with who’s who. It, of course, doesn’t even cover the tip of the iceberg, but it’s also enough to at least nod along during casual conversations.

Why You Should Skip Marvel Meow

1. Plot? What Plot?

As we’ve already stated above, this is a very short piece. Since it also features a lot of characters, there are only two possibilities. It’s either a great war that can only be survived if all of Earth’s heroes join hands or it’s only a series of short features. Unsurprisingly, it’s the latter. It’s a collection of short sketches showing how even individuals possessing great powers can look stupid in the presence of a cat. It’s great and all, but don’t expect any substantial plot is all that we’re saying.

Marvel Meow is an adorable take on the Marvel universe. It’s definitely unique and, unfortunately, won’t be adapted on the big screen. Nevertheless, we’re glad it somehow reaches our unworthy eyes. Whether or not you are a big fan of felines, this series will definitely elicit a chuckle or two. After all, it’s not often we see superheroes baffled out of their senses.

MARVEL-Myao-manga The Marvel Meow Manga Is Extremely Cute [Manga]

I am a copywriter, proofreader, and editor. I love watching anime, reading manga, and writing my own stories. Watch out in the future as you may see one of my works one day. Manga and anime were big parts of my childhood. I grew up watching Yu Yu Hakusho, Slam Dunk, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z. Those were probably one of the happiest and most carefree days of my life. In fact, most of my values are probably molded by manga. No, that’s not an exaggeration.
