Netflix’s The Witcher gets another character poster, this time featuring Ciri, readying herself for the oncoming battle in Season 2 of the hit series.

Netflix has dropped a series of character posters in preparation for the release of Season 2 of The Witcher. Each one highlights the destiny the upcoming series has in store for each of its three central characters. Ciri, the Lion Cub of Cintra, finally got her character poster, confirming her destiny for eagerly waiting audiences.

The character poster features Ciri standing before the broken battlements of Kaer Morhen with a short, wooden sword in hand, staring off into the distance at an unseen foe. “Destined to fight,” the poster reads.

The Witcher Season 2 adapts the events and characters of Andrzej Sapkowski’s Blood of Elves, which sees Geralt and Ciri spend a winter at Kaer Morhen, training the Cintran princess to fight like the witchers do. Ciri is run through the gauntlet in order to prepare her against the many foes across the Continent that want to destroy her or use her to gain power. She is trained the way most witchers are trained, and under the guidance of Geralt and his fellow School of the Wolf monster slayers– Eskel, Lambert, Coën and their mentor Vesemir.

When viewers last saw Ciri, she had made her way out of Brokilon Forest and escaped from the clutches of the evil doppler who had taken on the form of the deceased druid Mousesack. She is brought to a humble cottage in the Northern Kingdoms by a kind stranger who found her in the fields. This stranger’s husband incidentally meets a wounded Geralt of Rivia and takes him to his home, unknowingly bringing the witcher to his destiny– Ciri.

Early reports suggest that, while Season 2 will still feature both Kaer Morhen and the handful of witchers that remain, Netflix’s The Witcher will introduce original elements, such as a new witcher named Hemrik and maybe even the death of a major Blood of Elves character. Additionally, where Sapkowski’s novel begins with Ciri and Geralt already at the mountain fortress, showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich revealed in the past that the upcoming season will explore Geralt and Ciri’s journey together.
