Casting has been announced for several new roles in The Wheel of Time’s second season, including Masema, Ingtar and the foul-mouthed favorite Uno.
Several new characters will be joining The Wheel of Time in its second season, including some fan favorites from the fictional nation of Fal Dara.
The three new recurring roles are Uno, Masema and Ingtar, as reported by Deadline. Guy Roberts, Arnas Fedaravicius and Gregg Chillingirian have been cast to play the respective parts. The rulers of Fal Dara, Lord Agelmar and Lady Amalisa, will also appear in Season 2, with Marco Polo‘s Thomas Chaanhing and Sandra Yi Sencidiver set to guest star for the roles.
The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins previously teased the debut of Uno Nomesta, a one-eyed soldier known for his rough manner and persistent habit of cursing in the source fantasy novels by Robert Jordan. Uno’s actor Roberts is a Shakespearean stage actor and founder of an English-language theater in the Czech Republic, where much of the filming for The Wheel of Time has taken place.
Masema is also a soldier under Lord Agelmar, whose character takes some surprising twists and turns over the course of the series after an unassuming introduction, and Ingtar Shinowa is a warrior lord from the troubled Borderlands. Fedaravicius is a TV actor best known for The Last Kingdom, while Chillingirian stars in Netflix’s The One and plays Domenico in Discovery of Witches (both roles under the name of Gregg Chillin).
A previous announcement about The Wheel of Time‘s Season 2 revealed that a major role, Elayne Trakand, would be played by Ceara Coveney. Natasha O’Keeffe and Meera Syal have also been added to the cast, although it is not yet known what characters they will be playing. In addition, Judkins recently confirmed that the role of Aviendha had been cast, but the actor for the part has not been announced.
The Wheel of Time premiered on Nov. 19, and new episodes of Season 1 are currently airing Fridays on Prime Video. Reception for the epic fantasy series has been favorable, with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a Certified Fresh rating.
The show was given an early renewal while the first season was still filming, and production on Season 2 began in July. The newcomers will join a cast which includes Rosamund Pike as the Aes Sedai Moiraine, Daniel Henney as her Warder Lan, and many more.
