The cast of The Suicide Squad and writer/director James Gunn are hosting an online Watch Party before the movie leaves theaters and HBO Max.

On Aug. 30, Gunn and the cast will host a Watch Party on Twitter starting at 6 p.m. PST and 9 p.m. EST. Fans will be able to tweet along while streaming the film using #TSSWWatchParty, a week before The Suicide Squad leaves theaters and HBO Max on Sept. 5. Gunn promoted the “party” on his social media accounts, encouraging fans to join him and the rest of the cast in rewatching the film.

The Suicide Squad was released on HBO Max on Aug. 5, which was earlier than originally planned, appearing in theaters and for free on the streaming service, as opposed to its intended simultaneous release in theaters and HBO Max on Aug. 6.

The Suicide Squad set a pandemic-era box office record on its opening night despite worries of diminished theater traffic because of a rise in COVID-19 cases, though it ultimately fell short of its original box office predictions, raking in a three-day gross of $25.65 million.

Written and directed by Gunn, The Suicide Squad is currently in theaters and on HBO Max.
