Amazon Japan has vinyl reissues of the Star Wars soundtracks from A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi ready for pre-order.
Vinyl versions of the soundtracks from the original Star Wars trilogy are now available for pre-order on Amazon Japan.
Cabel of the video game publisher Panic tweeted the news earlier this week, and many Star Wars fans responded with expressions of their desire to own the vinyl reissues. While the soundtracks are currently available only through Amazon Japan, Cabel pointed out in the subsequent thread that the website is easy to shop in English because of Amazon’s translation feature.
The vinyl soundtracks of A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back are currently available for pre-order for 5,940 yen (approximately $53.96) and the soundtrack for Return of the Jedi for 4,290 yen ($38.97). However, Cabel explained that Amazon Japan’s shipping prices have been “totally out of whack lately” and encouraged consumers to “maybe wait until after they’re out, or consider getting a Tenso reshipping address.”
With a wealth of new Star Wars shows and movies in the works, fans are eager to acquire new merchandise, and companies have been developing and releasing a wide range of products from toys to pinball machines to cheesy potato tots shaped like Grogu’s head.
The original Star Wars trilogy and many other entries in the franchise, including The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch and The Clone Wars: The Final Season, are available to stream on Disney+.
