The Power Rangers’ Most Powerful Enemies Are About to Go Wild

[ad_1]

In Power Rangers #12, the most powerful enemies the Omega Rangers have ever faced have reunited, and the situation is becoming wilder than ever.

WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Power Rangers #12, available now from Boom! Studios.

For all the recent trouble that the Power Rangers have had recently, nothing seems to be getting any better despite how much they have already managed to overcome. After freeing their home from the clutches of Lord Zedd, the Rangers discovered that their most powerful allies are preparing to invade the world in secret. In Power Rangers #12 (by Ryan Parrott, Francesco Mortarino, Raul Angulo, Jose Enrique Fernandez, and Ed Dukeshire) the Guardians of Eltar, who are poised to bring war to Earth, are being betrayed by their most powerful allies, signaling wild times ahead for the universe at large.

The Omega Rangers are in the worst situation imaginable after finally catching up to their last living god. On a desolate rock in the middle of otherwise empty space, the Omegas were rebuked by the Yellow Emissary only moments before seeing the Morphin deity torn to pieces by one of the Empyreals. While the heroes are left running, their assailants receive a transmission from the person pulling their strings. Supreme Guardian Zartus is happy to see that with the final Emissary’s death, the last of the Empyreals has crossed dimensions, and he beckons them to his side immediately. However, the powerful aliens already have plans to be freed of their master.

As soon as the transmission ends, the Empyreals begin plotting their next course of action. While they are bound to Zartus’ orders so long as he is in possession of the Zeo Crystal, they choose to ensure the Omega Rangers’ destruction before following his command.

These interdimensional terrors are effectively the demented shadows of the benevolent Emissaries Three, and it looks like fulfilling that dark, destructive nature is the only thing that interests the Empyreals. Zartus might hold sway over them thanks to the power of the Zeo Crystal, but the Empyreals are ultimately servants of Dark Specter, and it is only a matter of time before Zartus is eliminated.

As dire as things might be the for Power Rangers, they will very likely be able to sit back and watch as the invading forces are decimated from within, assuming that the Empyreals are able to attain their freedom.

With any luck, the Rangers will be able to exploit the inevitable betrayal, and somehow come up with a plan that will give them a fighting chance against the most powerful enemies they have ever faced.
