Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? probably has one of the longest and most misleading titles ever since it conjures images of a character going into a dungeon to try and get dates. In reality, the actual story follows a city of guilds, known as Familias, going on adventures in a dungeon which none of them, including its strongest warriors, have ever reached the top of.
Each Familia is made up of a collection of adventurers who all serve a different purpose. The person who seems to embody what the Familia is going for the most is usually the Familia’s “captain,” who also happens to often be the strongest person in each guild. This list ranked the most powerful captains according to their levels, but also according to their overall usefulness in battle.

10 CHANDRA IHIT – LEVEL 2
Originally, Zanis Lustra was the Captain of the Soma Familia. However, this position was taken from him after Soma realized Zanis selfishly cared more about his position and power than the whole Familia. Chandra is much better suited for the role in terms of actually caring about people within the Familia. What makes Chandra’s position so low-ranking, however, is that the viewers never actually see him in combat—they only know he is level two, which places him pretty far down the list compared to some of the others on this list.
9 NAAZA ERISUIS – LEVEL 2
The Miach Familia is rather small, consisting only of four people in all. They were much larger, but most of the members decided to leave the organization once Miach bankrupted them to replace Naaza’s arm. In her favor, Naaza is quite the talented archer, even saving Bell once from a higher level opponent. Having said that, her stats aren’t high for a level two, plus she’s more suited for a support role.
8 KASHIMA OUKA – LEVEL 2
Kashima Ouka was the Captain of the Takemikazuchi Familia. His low ranking is a case of his team overall looking more impressive than they are. While each of the members is a talented warrior in their own right, none of the Takemikazuchi Familia have been adventuring for very long.
They came to the city together and began their work climbing the dungeon tower, but they haven’t gained enough experience to be ranked very highly.
7 HYAKINTHOS CLIO – LEVEL 3
The former captain of the Apollo Familia, Clio was a cocky guy who kept to himself mostly. When we first see him it’s defending his fellow family members, who’d instigated a fight.
Clio proceeds to beat both Welf Crozzo and Bell with absolute ease. He crushes Bell twice, and it’s only after training with people much stronger than him that Bell can defeat him. Clio’s a pretty impressive warrior, but his obsession with being loved by Apollo lead to their loss.
6 BELL CRANEL – LEVEL 3
The inexperienced Little Rookie has come quite a way in a very short length of time. His special skill allows him to power-level, and so the power it took others years to reach, Bell has done in only a couple of months. Upon reaching level three he easily levels Clio, who’d beaten him soundly before. The rigid power structures of this world mean he can’t topple people higher on the list. However, that won’t last for very long, as he’ll continue getting stronger.
5 ASFI AL ANDROMEDA – LEVEL 4
The leader of the Hermes Familia, it’s entirely possible she’s not so much chosen for her strength but rather for how well she runs the organization as its leader. But that doesn’t mean she’s weak—reaching level 4 is no joke.
However, her main skills lie in creating items, with her boasting special sandals that help her fly, and much more, over the years. This might be efficient for helping her allies and her Familia, but it is less useful in the thick of battle.
4 PHRYNE JAMIL – LEVEL 5
The Captain of the Ishtar Familia, Phryne is incredibly dangerous. She boasts incredible physical strength, easily battering Bell when they first ran into one another. She’s got resistance to physical abnormalities like poison and can heal herself as well. She also went head to head with Aiz Wallenstein on multiple occasions. The fact that the two of them seem close at all considering Aiz’s power showed that she is a powerful fighter in her own way.
3 TSUBAKI COLLBRANDE – LEVEL 5
Tsubaki Collbrade is the dwarf captain of the Hephaestus Familia known worldwide for craftsmanship. Tsubaki is incredibly nice and caring, but viewers have never actually seen her in combat.
However, it is well-known in-universe that she trained under Hephaestus for making weapons and made made her weapons to ensure her usefulness in battle. The limit of her abilities is yet to be seen, but considering she runs one of the more popular guilds and the Hephaestus Familia are warrior blacksmiths, she’s got to be considered a high-level adventurer.
2 FINN DEIMNE – LEVEL 6
Finn certainly doesn’t look dangerous despite being one of the most powerful people in the city. However, he is loaded with special abilities. He has magic abilities to vastly increase his stats, making him suited to conquer people that are stronger than him. He also has resistance to magic attacks and is quite talented when it comes to using spears. Finn’s abilities simply show that looks can be deceiving, and he should not be underestimated despite not looking very intimidating.
1 OTTAR – LEVEL 7
The most powerful adventurer we’ve seen yet. Ottar is a level seven. This made him powerful enough to crush people who are only a couple levels beneath him. He worked for Freya and climbed up the ranks to become her most trusted partner. He possesses a powerful great sword from his battle against a Monster Rex, and he possesses the ability to boost his stats at the cost of his stamina, making him an incredible swordsman. If Bell ever wanted to beat Ottar in battle, he has a long way to go to surpass him.
