The Cuphead Show’s First Zany Trailer Is Full of Nods to the Game

Netflix debuts the first full trailer for The Cuphead Show, detailing the pair’s adventure to reclaim their souls following a deal with the devil.

Netflix dropped the first full trailer for The Cuphead Show!, focusing on the zany antics of the titular character and his brother Mugman.

The footage follows the two impulsive brothers as they grow tired of completing chores around the house. Setting off on a quest to discover fun and excitement, the duo ends up at the “Carnevil,” a sinister funfair run by none other than the devil himself. Hijinks and misadventures ensure, resulting in the brothers losing their souls to the devil and embarking on a quest to recover what was lost. Beyond providing the context behind the show’s narrative, the trailer also features several more specific nods to Cuphead, the 2017 video game that inspired the show. Fans will undoubtedly recognize King Dice (voiced by Wayne Brady) as well as several other bosses from throughout the game including The Root Pack, Ribby and Croaks and Grim Matchstick. Shopkeeper Porkrind also makes an appearance, mentioning how much he hates those cups.
