The Crimson Dawn’s Return Brought the Entire Galaxy Together

[ad_1]

Crimson Dawn’s invitations to attend an auction for the carbonite slab of Han Solo have drawn attention from every corner of the Star Wats galaxy.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #11 by Alyssa Wong, Minkyu Jung, Victor Olazaba, Joe Caramagna and Rachelle Rosenberg, on sale now.

When the Rebels heard a rumor that Boba Fett had lost Han Solo’s carbonite slab, they wasted no time and jumped into action. It was later revealed that Crimson Dawn had taken possession of Solo, changing the atmosphere surrounding his rescue. The Dawn sent out invitations to the greatest powers in the galaxy to an auction containing Solo. While the Rebels were clearly interested in rescuing their friend, it would appear that some of the other organizations are attending the auction for completely different reasons.

Doctor Aphra and Sana Starros have been working various jobs for Domina Tagge. Their most recent assignment brought them to a party cruiser in search of Tagge’s cousin. The women expected to find the cruiser full of life but they found nothing but corpses aboard. They soon discovered the lifeless body of Tagge’s cousin but the real prize was in his hand. He held an invitation to Crimson Dawn’s auction which Aphra knew could lead to a big score. She further convinced her partner Starros of the venture by informing her of the auction’s prize. Starros had once claimed to be the wife of Han Solo and the pair share a storied history.

Doctor Aphra enters the war of the bounty hunters

After escaping the party ship that played host to lethal bugs and a dangerous bounty hunter, Aphra and Starros reached out to Tagge to inform her of their discovery. Tagge decided the next best course of action would be to send Aphra and Starros to the auction in an effort to find more information about Crimson Dawn and the other crime syndicates’ current operations. Since Crimson Dawn has been out of the picture for years, most factions are unaware of their actions. Many other groups have stated that they are going to the auction solely to find out more about the Dawn. There is another group that has a mission at the auction that has nothing to do with Crimson Dawn or Han Solo.

Just Lucky and his new partner Ariole have been running jobs for Wen Delphis and the Sixth Kin crime syndicate. After the pair were ambushed during an operation, they returned to Wen Delphis to express their concerns. Delphis let the pair know that there was a traitor in their organization that she believed was their former mentor. Delphis had received an invitation to Dawn’s auction and knew that the traitor would be present. She decided to send Lucky and Ariole to the auction in an effort to assassinate the potential traitor.

Wen Delphis sends Just Lucky to the War of the Bounty Hunters

While Aphra and Just Lucky are the newest contenders in the War of the Bounty Hunters, they join a long list of organizations that are attending the auction for their own reasons. The Rebellion is, of course, eager to find and recover Han Solo. Darth Vader has also learned of Fett’s carelessness and is attempting to recover Solo himself. Vader believed that Solo was the key to destroying Luke and the Rebellion. Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt council are also trying to claim the bounty they believe was stolen from them. On top of the other crime syndicates in attendance, there are also plenty of bounty hunters headed for the auction. Boba Fett, Dengar and Beilert Valance are all aware of Crimson Dawn’s reemergence and are on their own paths to claim Solo.

Though many of the main characters of the Star Wars universe are going to the auction to claim Solo, it would appear that many of the other players in the galaxy are interested in gathering intel on Crimson Dawn. Organizations like the Unbroken Clan, Sixth Kin and many others have also received invitations to the auction, but these groups have no reason to obtain Solo. They are much more interested in the return of a former criminal powerhouse. Now that Crimson Dawn has gathered the galaxy together, they will have to work equally as hard to protect their secrets and prevent the auction from becoming a bloodbath.
