The Boys Teases a Dramatic Starlight Costume Reversion in Season 3

The latest edition of Vought News Network: Seven on 7 teases Starlight returning to her original costume in The Boys Season 3.

The latest edition of Vought News Network’s Seven on 7 with Cameron Coleman, the fictional news show set within the world of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys, has teased Annie January/Starlight (Erin Moriarty) returning to her original costume when the superhero satire returns for Season 3.

“Speaking of values, America’s super sweetheart Starlight returned to her old costume recently, bringing wholesome American values back to the forefront of her public persona,” Coleman (Matthew Edison) said in the October 2021 edition of Seven on 7. “Just in time for Halloween, Starlight’s classic costume is clearly becoming this year’s favorite go-to costume girls, surpassing Queen Maeve and quickly approaching Homelander-level sales numbers.”

Of course, fans of The Boys will know that upon venturing from the Midwest to New York City in order to join the famous superhero team known as The Seven, Starlight quickly learned that the realities of the job were far different — and far seedier — than what she had imagined. At one point, Starlight reluctantly ditched her original costume in favor of a much skimpier number at the insistence of Vought International, the company that controls The Seven. Based on the new Seven on 7, however, her original outfit seems due for a comeback.

Based on the comic book series of the same name created by writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson, Prime Video’s The Boys follows a group of vigilantes who take it upon themselves to keep corrupt superheroes — like The Seven — in check. The show premiered its first season back in July of 2019, with Season 2 arriving in September 2020.

The Boys Season 3 wrapped production last month and will arrive on Prime Video at a yet-to-be-disclosed date. In the meantime, Amazon has used Seven on 7 — which launched back in July — to keep viewers updated on the in-universe happenings of The Boys, albeit through a biased lens. The show, which itself is controlled by Vought, is hosted by the aforemenoned Cameron Coleman, an obvious parody of real-life television personalities, most notably Fox News’ Tucker Carlson. Edison is expected to reprise his role as Coleman in The Boys Season 3.

The Boys Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Season 3’s premiere date has yet to be officially announced. A college-set spinoff focusing on the team known as the G-Men from Ennis and Robertson’s comic is also in the works.
