The Book of Boba Fett’s Looney Tunes Hunt Ends in A Horrific Manner

In the latest episode of The Book of Boba Fett, Boba and Fennec Shand just had a Looney Tunes hunt, which ended in a horrific manner.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Book of Boba Fett Episode 4, “The Gathering Storm,” now streaming on Disney+.

As The Book of Boba Fett progresses, each episode reveals surprisingly heartwarming insight into the former bounty hunter as he redeemed his sinister past. Fans witnessed how he befriended the Tusken Raiders, only to lose his tribe in a brutal massacre, which informed why he wanted to bring peace to Mos Espa and, by extension, Tatooine as its daimyo. However, as his origin with Fennec Shand finally got explored, a Looney Tunes hunt took place which ended in a horrific manner.

It occurred after Boba saved Fennec’s life, and she agreed to help him out to clear her debt. He wanted her to raid Jabba the Hutt’s palace so he could reclaim his Firespray ship, because without his armor, Bib Fortuna and the hired goons wouldn’t respect him and give it back. In fact, they may have killed him so he was desperate for Fennec to assist.

She agreed, realizing he was honest and had a code, so she eventually mapped the facility, but as they infiltrated, chaos ensued as Boba and Fennec took out some kitchen droids, including a General Grievous-like cook. As they tried to get to the hangar, a lep rat-catcher droid came across the carnage, so they had to chase it so it wouldn’t raise the alarm.

It was designed like a bunny, and as Boba ran around with his staff, he looked a lot like Elmer Fudd with his gun. The sequence seemed to homage one of Looney Tunes’ most iconic, distinct rivalries, which often ended in Bugs outsmarting Elmer and embarrassing him.

It amused decades of generations, bringing comedic joy and warmth to fans who recognized their wacky adventures as the very essence of the Warner Bros. franchise. Make no mistake, Boba cut a similar figure, exhausted because not only is he older and slower, but the “rabbit” also outpaced him at every turn due to its nature. Even the speedy Fennec struggled to keep up as the petrified bot hid in the vents, but they’d corner the tired droid in time.

The lep knew they were all about business after seeing the bodies, however, and as Boba lifted and choked it, the kitchen assistant performed what was essentially suicide. The tiny bot flipped its switch off with its free hands and deleted its programming, dying in the process. It didn’t want to be a prisoner of war for information so rather than become a traitorous mainframe, it opted for death.

This conclusion was quite dark, stunning even Boba and Fennec, who admittedly might not have murdered it. Then again, it’s hard to blame the bot because all it could think of was being interrogated or ending up dead like its peers because, unlike the clumsy Elmer, Boba already gave the impression he was a killer.

To see Boba chase his rabbit, the first four episodes of The Book of Boba Fett are streaming with a new episode arriving each Wednesday on Disney+.
