In the world of action anime, there are all types of characters that can play the lead. That’s part of what makes anime so enjoyable — there’s a place for everyone. If a viewer doesn’t like one type of character, it’s possible they might enjoy another. But one type that seems to strike a chord with every kind of viewer is the laid-back hero.
These sort of nonchalant characters can often come across as lazy to people around them. But whether the character is just playing a role or if they’re generally just that chill, it doesn’t matter. Fans gravitate to these characters because they usually handle every situation with the same relaxed attitude.

His love for Konoha Village is so great he eventually became the Hokage. And yet despite all that, he’s one of the most chill characters on the show.

But, as Fullmetal Alchemist fans are aware, Mustang is far more than what he seems on the surface.
He’s connected far beyond what most people might initially assume and he’s a man who takes his job very seriously. But a lot of what he’s doing isn’t a joke. He really does enjoy being a playful person and frustrating his partner, Lieutenant Hawkeye.
