Superman vs Lobo Preview Gets Fans Ready for the Main Event

[ad_1]

A new preview has landed for Superman vs. Lobo #1, the forthcoming DC Black Label release that reunites the pair of enemies for an “outrageous” tale.

A scintillating preview of the upcoming Superman vs. Lobo #1, one of the latest titles in DC’s Black Label series, was just released.

Featuring artwork from Mirka Andolfo and Arif Prianto, the engrossing images provide an enticing look at the debut issue in the series that pits the Man of Steel against the formidable alien mercenary, Lobo. The plot of the series will follow the two enemies as they each face challenges in the form of the “jealous, but popular” alien called Numen and a shadowy doctor who aims to study the pair of extraterrestrial phenoms.

“My initial inspiration was the idea that some people think Superman is kinda uncool while Lobo is somehow cool, even though he’s a totally awful guy,” said series co-writer Tim Seeley. “I reached out to my Superman vs. Lobo co-writer Sarah Beattie asking her about why Lobo is ‘hot,’ and I think we inadvertently did more therapy work than we intended.”

As part of the DC Black Label imprint, Superman vs. Lobo can throw plenty of caution to the wind by allowing expletives and other “outrageous” elements to fill its pages. Showing his enthusiasm for the project, Seeley continued, “Sarah and I have crafted a dark buddy comedy and the laughs will fly. But it’s also going to make you think, and I’m pretty sure it’ll make ya weep [a] bit at least once. Also, there are going to be some epic cameos from across both Superman and Lobo’s histories.”

Superman vs. Lobo #1 by Tim Seeley, Sarah Beattie, Mirka Andolfo and Arif Prianto is available in print and as a digital comic book on Aug. 24.
