Starz announces it will stream the first three episodes of Stephen Amell’s wrestling drama Heels for free on Facebook, YouTube and the Starz app.
Starz has announced that the first three episodes of its professional wrestling-themed drama series Heels, starring Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig, will be available to stream for free on Facebook, YouTube and the Starz app starting tomorrow.
In an official press release, Starz revealed that the first three episodes of Heels will begin streaming free on the Starz app starting Friday, Sept. 17 at 12:01 a.m. ET. The free episodes will then go live on both Facebook and YouTube at 8 a.m. PT. The episodes “will also be available on Amazon, Apple, Att, Century Link, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Dish, Dtv, Google, Roku, Sling, Verizon and Vubiquity.”
Amell himself shared a video to Instagram in order to relay news of the free episodes to Heels fans. Heels marks Amell’s first major television project since the conclusion of The CW’s DC TV series Arrow, on which he starred as main protagonist Oliver Queen/Green Arrow for eight seasons from 2012 to 2020.
“What’s happening everybody… At 12:01 a.m. Eastern time tonight we will be dropping the first three episodes of our new show [Heels] on the STARZ app!” Amell wrote in the video’s caption. “Check them out! Tell a friend! Use exclamation points whenever possible!”
On Heels, Amell portrays Jack Spade, a heel wrestler in the Duffy Wrestling League (DWL) who also serves as the promotion’s proprietor behind the scenes, having taken over for his deceased father Tom Spade, played by David James Elliott. Amell is joined by Ludwig, who plays Jack’s babyface younger brother, Ace Spade.
The rest of Heels‘ main cast includes Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund, Allen Maldonado, James Harrison, Roxton Garcia and Chris Bauer. The series also features a number of recurring/guest stars, including real-life pro wrestler CM Punk (real name Phil Brooks), who recently came out of retirement to step into the ring for All Elite Wrestling (AEW), wrestling his first match in over seven years at the All Out pay-per-view on Sept. 5. Moreover, in addition to serving as Heels‘ showrunner, former Nickelodeon Guts host Mike O’Malley appears on-screen as antagonist Charlie Gully, owner of the DWL’s rival promotion.
Heels premiered on Starz last month on Aug. 15. To date, a total of five episodes have aired, with Season 1 slated to consist of eight episodes in total.
New episodes of Heels air Sundays on Starz.
