Spoiler: 007 May Actually Be Dead; Weak Box Office Returns in the US

We have some interesting results in this weekend’s box office as the new James Bond film No Time to Die continues to do well overseas but domestically it was a bit of a disappointment. Daniel Craig’s final time as OO7 has broken the $313M internationally, but here in the U.S., the film opened on the lower end of expectations coming in at only $56M according to Deadline.

How does that compare to the previous films? Quantum of Solace opened for $67.5M, Spectre for $70.4M and Skyfall for $88.3M. One of the things that might be going against the film is the excessive run time of almost three hours, meaning less number of screenings a theater can do, unlike Venom: Let There Be Carnage at 97 minutes which was able to bring in $32M even with the a big tent pole movie opening against it.

This movie is clearly NOT going to earn back its production costs… Bond may finally be dead after all.
