Spider-Man Flies in To Save the Day in New No Way Home Footage

[ad_1]

A new TV spot for Spider-Man: No Way Home sees Tom Holland’s Spidey use one of his suit’s many functions to glide into action.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker’s Iron Spider suit will utilize its own take on Spidey’s “glider” function.

An international promo for No Way Home shows Spidey flying through the air in his Iron Spider attire. As Spidey makes landfall, the suit retracts its large under-arm webbing. These webs allow Peter to glide safely and were featured on previous costumes in Homecoming and Far From Home. However, this functionality has never been seen from the Iron Spider armor before, teasing that Peter still has some tricks up his sleeve.

Peter’s Iron Spider costume first appeared at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Designed by Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark/Iron Man, the suit grants Spider-Man additional tools, such as retractable spider legs, an internal A.I. system and an “instant kill” mode that allows the suit to function independently. With that in mind, Peter may still be discovering some of the Iron Spider’s features in No Way Home, since he didn’t program the outfit and Tony never trained him on how to use it properly.

Given Peter’s familiarity with gliding, it is likely that he will be feeling pretty comfortable in the air by the time No Way Home begins. That’s good news for the friendly-neighborhood Spider-Man, as the clip shows that Peter will be wearing the Iron Spider armor when the Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, Willem Dafoe’s Norman Osborn is notorious for soaring in his own Goblin Glider, all-but-guaranteeing that the two will clash in the skies.

While the Iron Spider suit seems to be able to do anything a spider can, it isn’t the only suit that will be popping up in No Way Home. Additional footage from the film shows that Spidey’s self-designed red and black ensemble from Far From Home will be returning, as well as a new black costume that appears to have a connection to Doctor Strange.

Fans who want to see Spidey take to the skies can see Spider-Man: No Way Home in theaters on Dec. 17.
