Spider-Man: 10 Strongest Characters In No Way Home, Ranked

[ad_1]

The MCU’s third Spider-Man adventure may be the franchise’s best yet, and actor Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is in for the battle of his life. He now has Doctor Strange as a foster father figure to look after him, but that doesn’t mean Peter’s life is easy. In fact, he’s never had it worse, especially in light of The Daily Bugle’s faulty coverage of the London battle against Mysterio.

Now Peter Parker is outed as Spider-Man, he’s turned to Doctor Strange in desperation. Peter finds himself battling some of his worst enemies of all time, some of whom he’s never even met. Overall, there are the most powerful fighters in this all-new Spider-Man adventure – in terms of firepower, battlefield tactics and more.

10 Lizard/Dr. Connors Is A Reptilian Brute

The Amazing Spider-Man Lizard

Even the weakest characters to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home are all powerful fighters, and Spider-Man can’t afford to lower his guard around them. An example is Dr. Curt Connors, who mutated into The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield.

The Lizard is one of several extra-dimensional guests in No Way Home, a simple but tough melee warrior who uses brute force to challenge Spider-Man and anyone else who gets in his way. He doesn’t have any special tricks, though, aside from having his tail as a fifth limb in melee combat.

9 Doctor Octopus/Otto Octavius Wields Four Mechanical Arms In Combat

Dr. Otto Octavius was the main villain of 2004’s Spider-Man 2, a brilliant engineer whose fusion reactor project went wildly out of control. After the accident, the AI in the four arms went wild and took control of Otto’s mind, twisting him into a brutal and ruthless villain who wants to see his project complete at any cost.

Now, Dr. Octopus is in the MCU, and he marvels at the advanced Stark technology around him. Not even he had access to nano tech in his own universe, but he still has those four metal arms, which are highly effective for offense and enhanced mobility. They are also immune to magnetism, eliminating one of Doc Ock’s few obvious weaknesses.

8 Green Goblin Can Fly & Use Ranged Attacks

Green Goblin in Spider-Man: No Way Home

The Green Goblin was Spider-Man’s first major enemy in the 21st-century movies, making his debut in 2002’s Spider-Man. Under that terrifying mask is Norman Osborn of Oscorp fame, who used a special serum on himself to gain incredible power and strike back at the people who abandoned him.

Green Goblin is well-known for his glider, which affords him remarkable mobility in battle. He can also use explosives to attack his enemies, not to mention a set of flying blades. Up close, Green Goblin is also a formidable melee fighter, ensuring he is never truly defenseless.

7 Sandman Can Assume Any Form & Become Rock-Solid

The escaped convict Flint Marko mutated into the Sandman who, true to his name, has a body made entirely of sand. Due to his sandy nature, this villain can morph his body at will, and even become a giant during battle. He can also turn into a maelstrom of sand or harden his body like a rock, once his sand is sufficiently compacted.

Sandman is a formidable threat to Spider-Man, who relies almost entirely on melee attacks to fight his enemies, and Sandman can loosen his sand enough so most attacks go right through him. The crafty and resourceful Spider-Man will eventually find a way, though.

6 Electro Feeds On Electricity To Fight

Jamie Foxx's Electro in Spider-Man: No Way Home

Electro was the second villain Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man faced, a fellow who became a supervillain once he fell into a vat of electric eels. Now he is a lightning-based villain, and he longs to strike back at the world that never seemed to give him a chance. He’ll fight any version of Spider-Man to get what he wants.

In No Way Home, Electro pushed his powers to the next level, becoming stronger than ever and Spider-Man’s strongest foe. He was only defeated when a high-tech device leeched out his energy to revert him back to an ordinary man at last. Spider-Man has the redeemed Doc Ock to thank for that.

5 Wong Is A Powerful Wizard

Wong is an associate of Doctor Strange’s, a fellow master of the mystic arts and an excellent martial artist as well. Wong may not be a main MCU hero but he is still powerful in his own right, and he can even stand up to Thanos’ minions, the Black Order.

Wong didn’t do much in No Way Home, but still, his power cannot be denied. Wong can easily open the same portals Doctor Strange can, and he uses all kinds of offensive magic to trip up his opponents and get the edge.

4 Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Has Back Issues

Three different versions of Spider-Man came into contact in No Way Home. Since they’re the same person, the three Peters are close to each other’s power levels, with only minor discrepancies between them. Arguably, actor Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man is slightly weaker than the other two.

This is the first modern live-action Spider-Man. While he is powerful and smart like the other two, he’s getting worn out by now, and his back isn’t doing so well. Still, this classic web-slinger is more than ready to handle villainous lizards and sand.

3 Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man Loves Science & Quips

Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man

The second live-action Spider-Man is also a powerful web-slinger who fights hard to keep his native New York City from villainy and crime of all sorts. This version of Peter Parker was romantically involved with the lovely Gwen Stacy, until Gwen tragically lost her life and Spider-Man was too late to help.

Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man tangled with the Lizard and Electro. Whether in his own universe or the MCU, he’s ready to fight to the end to protect innocent lives. He couldn’t save Gwen, but he can help this new Peter protect MJ and Ned, at least.

2 Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Has Come A Long Way

The current Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland, has come a long way in a short time since he first appeared in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. Since then, the new Peter Parker has learned a lot about crimefighting, the broader universe, and himself. These lessons are often painful, but vital to learn.

Spider-Man died in Thanos’ snap, but he came back better than ever, and he has all kinds of Stark tech to back him up. This MCU Spider-Man has all the classic Spider-Man traits – martial arts skills, elastic webbing, his “tingles,” a quick and clever mind, and a gift for science. Somehow, some way, he will always save the day.

1 Doctor Strange Is A True Mystical Master

Tony Stark may be gone, but Peter still has a powerful, wise father figure to look after him – Doctor Stephen Strange, the master of the mystic arts and a loyal, if eccentric, Avenger. Doctor Strange is fantastically powerful, especially since his magic allows him to surpass any technology or the laws of physics. His imagination is the limit.

Even without the Time Stone, Doctor Strange still has enormous offensive and defensive capabilities, and he also has a brilliant and crafty mind to back it all up. He also has remarkable strength of will, being the one who repeatedly bargained with Dormammu to save the universe.
