Sony Interactive Network’s senior vice president of engineering, George Cacioppo, was recently sacked after a YouTube channel called People v. Preds caught the executive requesting sex with a juvenile. Cacioppo was discovered trying to have sex with a 15-year-old boy via the hookup app Grindr, according to the YouTube channel People v. Preds, which organizes amateur sting operations on pedophiles.
A videographer can be seen confronting Cacioppo outside of a home in the video below and asking the executive if his name was “Jeff.” The camerman proceeded to ask questions, such as who the CEO planned to meet with, prompting Cacioppo to return home.
When the folks behind the channel exchanged conversations with George Cacioppo, who used the screen name “Hosting BJ 4U” and went by the moniker “Jeff,” they were fronting as an adolescent kid on Grindr, the social networking app for gay, bi, trans and queer people.
Despite the fact that the decoy frequently told Cacioppo that they were just 15 years old, the Sony vice president exchanged sexual images and invited the child to a home in San Diego for oral sex. It’s unclear if the address belongs to the Sony executive.
People v. Preds confirmed that the information was sent to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. The DA’s office didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment. On Sunday, Sony issued a statement in which it acknowledged Cacioppo’s inappropriate behavior and stated to CNET, “We are aware of the incident, and the individual in question has been terminated from work.” While Sony’s statement to the publication acknowledges the situation, the company has not officially confirmed whether the individual in the video is Cacioppo, but People v. Preds maintains that the person seen in the video is the Sony employee.
Good riddance. I hope this man gets help for his sickness, and is punished for any crimes he may have committed.
