Since its humble beginnings back in 2008 when Iron Man was released, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU, has continued to grow. Now, there are numerous movies and TV releases every year to keep the story going. And each one is bigger and more exciting than the last. Not to mention the many merchandise opportunities that have presented themselves from NFTs to figurines and even games (like those playable at ミスティーノカジノ).
In 2019, Phase 3 ended with a bang with the Avengers taking on, and finally defeating Thanos in End Game. For many, we had grown used to these superheroes in their 23-movie run. So it’s great to know that there is still more to come, and more stories to tell. This year in particular has brought big changes within the MCU. Now, 2021 has seen the beginning of Phase 4 and what that is bringing to the Universe. Better still, Marvel has released a slate of a further 23 movies and TV shows to come over the next few years.
As with everything in the MCU, this Phase started off with a huge impact bringing in new characters and storylines for us to follow over the next few years. Interestingly, this Phase also began with the release of TV shows, something Marvel had not really ventured into before.
With WandaVision, Falcon and Winter Soldier, and Loki all released in the first half of the year, we got an idea of where Phase 4 was heading. Each of these shows provided something new and innovative, particularly when it came to their ramifications in the wider MCU. Most notably, and a little spoiler alert here if you haven’t already seen, the Loki series really turned things on its head regarding the multiverse, the new big bad and what that can bring story-wise.
With cinemas back, two of the latest movies in Phase 4 have just dropped. Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings follows on directly after End Game, and Black Widow which preceded it. As such, it provides us with a look at the events to come and where the story is headed now Thanos is no longer an issue.
Following close on its heels was Eternals.
A new take on the way Marvel does things, this stunning film spans thousands of years of Earth’s history. Once again though, it brings in new characters and pushes forward off the back of the events we’ve already seen within the MCU.
On top of that, both these movies are setting up bigger events and these are highly anticipated in the next movies that are soon to drop.
Arguably one of the most anticipated Marvel movies of recent years is Spider-Man: No Way Home. With just one trailer out and barely any poster information, theories abound regarding this next installment.
Following on from this, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, looks to be taking on the Multiverse story and further expanding this story. With December 2021 and May 2022 release dates respectively, these are two of the biggest movies in the upcoming slate.

These are just some of the next features on the list, but there are so many more to come. With such a wide array of source material to draw from, don’t expect Marvel to go anywhere any time soon! While some of your favorite heroes might be gone and their stories completed, there is a whole range of new ones ready and waiting to take you on a thrilling journey.
