SHUT IN THEATER: Weekend Reading 67

[ad_1]

It’s time for Weekend Reading 67! Where does the time go when it’s not around here? As we celebrate our first weekend in July here at Stately Beat Manor, we’ll be doing what we do best: reading!

As always, we hope that you’ll be sharing your weekend reading plans with us, as well. Give us a shout here in the comment section or over on social media @comicsbeat and let us know what you’ll be reading this weekend!

Weekend Reading 67: Grip and Plunge

AVERY KAPLAN: This weekend, I’m going to be re-reading Plunge by Joe Hill, Stuart Immonen, Dave Stewart, and Deron Bennett. While I previously read a digital copy while writing my article on the comic for PanelxPanel 41, I’m excited to enjoy a physical copy this weekend. Then, I’ll be re-reading Grip by Lale Westvind, a book that I ordered from Silver Sprocket’s online shop. While Grip may currently be sold out, there are plenty of other awesome comics available from Silver Sprocket’s site, and this is a great time to pick up some comics and help them recoup from having been robbed!

Weekend Reading 67: Alias

TAIMUR DAR: I loved the Netflix Jessica Jones series (at least the first season the most) and it occurred to me that while I read her appearances in The Pulse and New Avengers, all these years I’ve never actually taken the time to read her first first ongoing series Alias under the Marvel MAX imprint. Since it’s free on comiXology, I’ll be checking out the first trade this weekend.

Weekend Reading 67: Avengers 98

DEAN SIMONS: After a break, I am back at the old school issues of Avengers. The very end of the Roy Thomas era. And it ends gorgeously – because Barry Windsor-Smith’s debut on the title occurred around issue 98 and oh myyyyy…. So yeah: last issues of Thomas-Avengers < loosens tie >
