A new poster for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings features Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi as a LEGO Minifigure.
Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, the titular hero of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, received the LEGO Minifigure treatment for a new poster for the film.
The official LEGO Twitter account shared a spoof of a previous poster from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film, which features Shang-Chi in LEGO form. “A new legend awaits,” the caption reads.
Shang-Chi follows Liu’s eponymous character who, after abandoning his past, is roped back into the mysterious Ten Rings organization by his father, Wenwu / The Mandarin (Tony Leung). Along the way, he will encounter magic, a dragon and even a past The Incredible Hulk villain.
While these may seem like difficult challenges on their own, these enemies will not be the main obstacles the hero must overcome “Shang-Chi’s main problem in his life is rooted in not knowing who he really is,” said director Destin Daniel Cretton. “He has to learn how to own every part of himself. If he doesn’t allow himself to look at all of it—the good, the bad, the light and the dark—and to own it all, he won’t be able to reach his full potential.”
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings also stars Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Meng’er Zhang, Ronny Chieng, Fala Chen and Florian Munteanu. It will premiere exclusively in theaters on Sept. 3.
