A new report claims Henry Cavill’s version of Superman will not be showing up in The Flash or any other upcoming projects from DC Films.
A new report spells out unfortunate news for those expecting to see Henry Cavill’s Superman in The Flash or any other upcoming DC Extended Universe movies.
“He isn’t going to be in The Flash and in fact doesn’t currently have a deal to reprise Supes in any movie,” Umberto Gonzalez tweeted. Of course, Cavill could always return as Superman if he signs a new deal with Warner Bros.

This news arrives shortly after major developments for other live-action Superman productions. Ta-Nehisi Coates is penning the screenplay for a Superman movie starring a Black version of Clark Kent/Kal-El, while Michael B. Jordan is developing a production centered on the Val-Zod incarnation of Superman for HBO Max.
That said, the DCEU won’t be without a Kryptonian superhero, even with Cavill’s Superman on the sidelines. Sasha Calle will make her first appearance as Supergirl in The Flash, with rumors suggesting she could go on to headline her own solo film.
The Flash, starring Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster, races into theaters Nov. 4, 2022. As for Cavill, his apparent last outing as the Man of Steel was in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which is now streaming on HBO Max.
