Random: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Glitch Lets You Break Metallic Treasure Chests

[ad_1]

More than five years after the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the glitches just keep on coming. The latest comes courtesy of YouTube channel Gaming Reinvented, a regular when it comes to glitch discoveries.

You know the metallic treasure chests hidden around the land of Hyrule? The ones that often contain rare clothing or key items? Yeah, you can break them! To do so, however, you’ll need utilise the cannons dotted around Goron City and Death Mountain in the Eldin Region. Simply load a bomb into the cannon, break out the Magnesis Rune ability to move the treasure chest into place, then BOOM! Fire the cannon at the chest and it will smash into pieces, revealing its contents.

Sounds like a neat, albeit fiddly way to access some of the game’s many clothing items, right? Well, not quite. As it turns out, rare items found exclusively via the treasure chests aren’t meant to exist within the game world itself, so they’re not governed by the same physics engine as everything else. As a result, any item found within will simply float in the exact spot where the treasure chest exploded; you can’t move it or interact with it in any way.

So, like many of Breath of the Wild’s glitches, it seems this one yields no discernible advantage whatsoever, but it’s pretty cool that it’s possible, nonetheless. At least it doesn’t result in your near-instant death, like this one!

Let us know in the comments if you try out this particular glitch, and whether you’ve discovered any other neat little easter eggs!
