We can imagine that one of the most fun things about being a video game composer (except, you know, writing music for a video game) is the variety of projects you’ll get to work on. One time you might be writing music for a cyberpunk action-adventure game, then your next project might be a cute and cuddly platformer.

Today, we have Octopath Traveler composer Yasunori Nishiki to thank for a pair of unlikely projects. Most famous for making his solo composer debut on the Square Enix’s HD-2D RPG, he has gone on to provide compositions for Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake, but he has another credit in his deck that might surprise you.

In a recent update, the free-to-play Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel has added in the credits, letting you see and praise all of the people who worked on that game. And Yasunori Nishiki’s name is right there! The composer confirmed the news on Friday on Twitter.

Many fans of his work and Yu-Gi-Oh! have been praising the composer, and many are likely discovering Nishiki’s stunning work on other games as a result. What’s really adorable is that Nishiki has been responding to fans on the social media platform.

One user wanted to know when the soundtrack to Master Duel will be released, and while Nishiki is obviously not in charge of this, he did have a very lovely reply.

That’s someone we absolutely want to get a cup of coffee with at some point! Even before Nishiki broke the news, fans have been going crazy over the game’s music, with many saying it “slaps”, and we can only agree with a pedigree like Nishiki on board.

Drop us a comment if you’ve listened to the music of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel!
