Like any other Switch game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus has been subject to a series of updates since launch, updates which are intended to fix bugs and solve issues. However, ver. 1.0.2 has introduced a glitch that can ‘softlock’ your game if you’re not careful.
Please note: the following information could be considered a spoiler, so proceed at your own risk.
The glitch impacts Mission No. 23. If the player catches Cresselia before speaking with Melli, Melli will not acknowledge the capture and Cresselia won’t respawn – and this means that the mission cannot be marked as complete.
Because it’s very easy to trigger this softlock without knowing, it has been catching out quite a few players. It’s quite easy to enter the Moonview Arena and capture Cresselia without first speaking to Melli; because Cogita provides the quest, many will assume there’s no reason to interact with Melli.
As you can see from these posts, this has caught more than a few people out. Hopefully, a fix will be forthcoming.
