The world of One Piece consists of a lot of strong individuals from various organizations fighting to see their dreams fulfilled. Just as the Straw Hat Pirates aim to make Luffy the Pirate King, the are others with similar goals and the determination to see them through.

Being a battle shonen, most characters in One Piece engage in fights quite often to demonstrate what they’re capable of. With time, these characters gain massive power-ups to showcase the progress they’ve made over the years. Unfortunately, some characters have fallen behind in the story and, thus, deserve new power-ups.

10 Usopp Hasn’t Gained A New Power Since Dressrosa

Usopp After The Time Skip

Usopp is the sharpshooter of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the five Haki users in the crew. He awakened Observation Haki during the Dressrosa arc of the story and used it to knock Sugar out, but he hasn’t gained any new power since then. The Wano Country arc saw him fight against Page One and Ulti for a while, but he unfortunately wasn’t able to hold his own against them. What’s more is that Usopp didn’t even tap into his Observation Haki during the fight.

9 Chopper Hasn’t Gained A New Power Since The Timeskip

One Piece Chopper Rumble ball

Chopper spent his two years of training in South Blue’s Torino Kingdom where he learned advanced medical science and boosted his strength further. He gained the ability to shift into his many forms, including the new Kung-Fu Point, without needing a rumble ball and only requiring one for Monster Point. However, he hasn’t gained any new powers since then. In Wano, all Chopper could do was increase the time limit of the Monster Point to 30 minutes, but it was of no help against Queen.

8 Nico Robin Hasn’t Had A Proper Fight Since Skypiea

Nico Robin Mille Fleurs

Nico Robin is one of the stronger members of the crew, thanks to her incredible ability to use the Hana Hana no Mi. Robin is one of the most underutilized Straw Hats when it comes to combat, as evident from the fact that her last major fight came against Yama during the Skypiea arc. She has certainly acquired new powers since the timeskip, such as the ability to use Mil Fleur, but she has the potential to gain much greater powers and certainly deserves that much attention.

7 Franky Needs A New Upgrade After The Sasaki Fight

General Franky- One Piece

The war on Onigashima saw Franky take on Sasaki of the Tobiroppo of the Beasts Pirates in an exhilarating clash that pushed both of the fighters to their utmost limit.

For the first time since the timeskip, Franky’s BF-38 was completely destroyed in a fight, all thanks to Sasaki’s Ancient Zoan Triceratops power. Now that Franky has reached his limit, he deserves a bigger power-up for the upcoming fights as the story is far from over.

6 Trafalgar Law Hasn’t Received A Power-Up Since Dressrosa

The captain of the Heart Pirates, Trafalgar Law is one of the strongest members of the Worst Generation who also stood up to fight Kaido on Onigashima. Although Law has gotten much stronger since fighting Doflamingo, evident from his showing against Kaido, he hasn’t received any new powers. Law’s Haki hasn’t seen any upgrades, unlike Luffy, and he displayed just one new Devil Fruit ability throughout the entire arc. Being Luffy’s rival, he certainly needs more power-ups.

5 Tashigi Has Yet To Make Her Mark In The Story

Tashigi, One Piece

A Captain of the Marines, Tashigi is quite an able swordswoman who possesses immense knowledge of all the blades in the world. Tashigi wields quite a few of them with great mastery, but she has barely been focused on in the story. Every time she fights a major opponent, the performance is unimpressive. Despite knowing Haki, Tashigi often struggles during fights. It goes without saying that she is in desperate need of a bigger power-up if she is to stay relevant in the future.

4 Koala Needs To Show What She’s Truly Capable Of

Koala is a member of the Revolutionary Army and an incredibly powerful user of Fishman Karate. She often works alongside Hack and Sabo, but the latter is much stronger than her.

Koala, being central to the plot with the Revolutionary Army, needs to keep up with Sabo and therefore deserves a power-up. Although she hasn’t demonstrated her true strength yet, it’ll be quite interesting to see her use the advanced techniques of Fishman Karate.

3 Brook Needs New Powers Against Black Maria

Brook One Piece Ice Sword

Brook is the musician of the Straw Hat Pirates but an equally good fighter as well. He’s a menace to deal with in combat thanks to his incredible fencing skills and the power of the Yomi Yomi no Mi, in which he summons the chill of the underworld. However, against one of the Tobiroppo, Brook certainly needs new powers and could get them as soon as he faces her in combat.

2 Bepo Is An Underwhelming Fighter So Far

Bepo is a polar bear Mink and navigator of the Heart Pirates. He’s skilled in martial arts to quite an extent and also knows how to use Electro as a Mink. Although Bepo possesses a decent skill set, he has hardly ever been useful in fights. As one of Law’s strongest subordinates, Bepo has to live up to certain expectations and desperately needs a power-up.

1 Carrot Lost To Perospero In Wano Country

A companion of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the Musketeers of Inuarashi, Carrot is a rabbit Mink known to be incredibly skilled as a fighter. When accessing her Sulong form, she becomes a menace for even someone as strong as Perospero to deal with. Unfortunately, much of Carrot’s strength comes from her Sulong form, which isn’t always accessible to her. To make up for it, Carrot definitely needs a new power-up to keep up with the rest of the pirates.
