Old Man Indy: Harrison Ford Injures Shoulder During ‘Indy 5’ Scene
Harrison Ford suffered a shoulder injury on the set of Disney’s Lucasfilm action thriller Indiana Jones 5 during a fight scene. While the extent of Ford’s shoulder injury is unknown at this time, director James Mangold intends to continue shooting the film around the star while he receives treatment, according to Deadline.
“Harrison Ford experienced an injury involving his shoulder while rehearsing for a fight scene,” Disney said in a statement. “Production will continue while the best course of therapy is determined, and the filming schedule will be adjusted accordingly in the coming weeks.”
Production on Indiana Jones 5 began earlier this month at Pinewood Studios near London and other locales in the United Kingdom. The film is scheduled to be released on July 29, 2022. Ford will appear with Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Thomas Kretschmann in the film.
This is not the actor’s first injury while filming. Ford was hit by a hydraulic door on the set of the Millennium Falcon starship in 2014 while reprising his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens at Pinewood Studios. He was airlifted to a hospital and had surgery.
