RUMOR: Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars Series Casts a Young Leia Organa
An actor has reportedly been chosen to portray a young Princess Leia Organa in the upcoming Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Vivien Lyra Blair will play Leia, according to a report from Jordan Maison of Cinelinx. Blair is known for her roles in Bird Box and We Can Be Heroes. If the casting is confirmed, Leia’s involvement may reveal more about the plot of the series and the other characters and locations that it will feature.
Although details about Obi-Wan Kenobi have been kept under wraps so far, it’s known that it will bridge the events of the Star Wars prequel movies and Star Wars: A New Hope, in which the reclusive Kenobi comes out of exile on Tatooine to answer Princess Leia’s cry for help. Along the way, Kenobi also becomes a mentor for Luke Skywalker, who is beginning his own journey to become a Jedi Knight.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will feature the return of Ewan McGregor as the title character, as well as Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. Other stars announced so far include Joel Edgerton, Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani and Benny Safdie. The series will air on Disney+ along with a number of other Star Wars shows in development, but has yet to receive a premiere date.
