Nintendo has shared a lot of positive news about its global hardware and software hardware sales over the past few weeks and now the NPD Group has revealed the “top 10” most played video games in the first quarter of 2022.
The only first-party title on the list from Nintendo was Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Other games featured included titles like Minecraft, Fortnite and Among Us. Here’s a bit of extra detail, via Mat Piscatella of the NPD Group:
“Here are the top 10 most played games of Q1 2022 in the U.S. ranked by year of initial release. (Source: The NPD Group’s PlayerPulse) Half of the top 10 weren’t launched this decade. Elden Ring ranked 20th. Ahead of it were games like Rocket League, World of Warcraft and Skyrim.”

According to Nintendo’s most recent financial data, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now the second-highest selling Switch game globally – shifting 38.64 million units. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still out in front with 45.33 million units.
