Spider-Man: No Way Home brings together the Peter Parkers of three worlds, and one of the film’s concept artists captures the moment.

One of Spider-Man: No Way Home’s concept artists has unveiled an image that captures one of the film’s most significant moments.
Digital artist Maciej Kuciara tweeted the image of the movie’s three Spider-Men — Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire — atop the Statue of Liberty. All three characters are seen in their full respective costumes, standing on the crown of the landmark as it undergoes renovations replacing the original Torch of Liberty with a representation of Captain America’s shield. “One of many frames I worked on for Spiderman: No Way Home,” Kuciara’s tweet reads, “Together with my buddy @okon_marek who built this amazing set.”
The image summarizes Spider-Man: No Way Home’s most iconic moment, as the Peter Parkers from three universes unite to take on the villains that have crossed into the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Garfield and Maguire’s roles in the movie were closely held secrets throughout the film’s production and promotion. Many fans had speculated the actors’ involvement in the film — speculation that only increased after the release of the movie’s first full trailer and fueled by the prominent reappearance of Alfred Molina’s Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. Garfield and Maguire never acknowledged any part in the film prior to its release.
In the movie, Holland’s Peter approaches Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, to weave a spell undoing the world’s knowledge of his identity as Spider-Man — revealed by J. Jonah Jameson in the mid-credits scene in Spider-Man: Far from Home. Peter’s interference with the spell results in the incursion of five villains from two different universes — the worlds seen in Maguire’s and Garfield’s Spider-Man films — into that of the MCU. No Way Home later reveals Maguire and Garfield’s incarnations of Spider-Man have also breached the multiversal divide.
Spider-Man: No Way Home also revealed the changes being made to the Statue of Liberty, in the wake of Steve Rogers/Captain America’s absence following the events of Avengers: Endgame. The climactic battle that takes place on the statue, though, ends up damaging Lady Liberty and destroys the in-progress addition of Cap’s shield.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters.
