Nintendo Might Have Actually Resolved Its Switch Joy-Con Drift Issues

Earlier this month, we ran a story about someone who had supposedly come up with a solution for Joy-Con drift. In case you missed it, the fix requires you to insert a small square of paper or cardboard into the same spot as the analog stick locations in order to reapply pressure to the case of the controller. It’s that simple, and so far seems to be working.

Now, a Nintendo Switch user by the name of @Mario_RPG_Fan on Twitter has opened up their brand new Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD controller (yes, someone actually did that) and has supposedly discovered two strips around the analog section of the case…

This is certainly interesting timing considering the previously mentioned YouTube fix went viral just a few days before the release of Skyward Sword HD and the limited edition Zelda Joy-Con controllers. It means, Nintendo could have potentially come up with this fix itself quite a while ago.

The Skyward Sword HD controller is a limited run, so Nintendo might just be testing the waters for now. If it does work though, we may see this same Joy-Con update applied to standard Joy-Con controller releases in the future. Based on it being a few strips, we can’t imagine it’s all that costly.

What are your thoughts about Nintendo potentially resorting to this fix? Leave a comment down below.
