New CRITICAL ROLE graphic novel tells Nott the Brave’s origin

[ad_1]

Dark Horse Comics has announced a new graphic novel that will recount the origin of one of The Mighty Nein’s mighty members. Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins – Nott The Brave is written by Sam Maggs, with game master Matthew Mercer and Nott the Brave player Sam Riegel, illustrated by William Kirkby, colored by Mildred Louis, and lettered by Ariana Maher.

Here’s how Dark Horse describes Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins – Nott The Brave:

Veth Brenatto doesn’t have an exciting life, but she likes it that way. Unlike her childhood, it’s safe. Predictable. And her husband and son love her as fiercely as she loves them. But Veth’s cozy existence is turned on its head when she and her family are captured by raiders. In order to save them, Veth will commit an atrocity that will sever her from all that she loves––maybe forever––and lead her to become Nott the Brave of the Mighty Nein.

Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins – Nott The Brave is the latest entry in Dark Horse’s series of graphic novels following the beginnings of each member of the band of adventurers from the wildly popular Critical Role webseries. The first book of the series, featuring the origin of Jester Lavorre, is due out next month, while two more volumes, spotlighting Caleb Widogast and Yasha Nydoorin, respectively, are due in early 2022.

Maggs, Kirkby, and Maher have all previously worked on installments of the Mighty Nein Origins series, with Maggs writing the Jester Lavorre book with Mercer and Laura Bailey, Kirkby illustrating the Yasha Nydoorin entry, and Maher lettering all the previous volumes of the series.

Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins – Nott The Brave will be available, as all other entries of the series are, as a hardcover for $17.99. The new book will arrive in stores on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022.
