Leave it to the social justice minded Netflix to take up where the woke left-wing activists at the now defunct animation studio Blue Sky left off, as reported by equally leftist Polygon, on a cartoon project they had sitting around, previously noted here:
Netflix has picked up the animated movie adaptation of ND Stevenson’s comic, Nimona, which will premiere some time in 2023. The movie stars Chloë Grace Moretz as Nimona, Riz Ahmed as Ballister Boldheart, and Eugene Lee Yang as Ambrosius Goldenloin. Previously, Nimona was in development at 20th Century’s Blue Sky Studios, before Disney shut down the studio in 2021. Stevenson announced the news on Twitter.
[…] The film adaptation was announced in 2015, though after Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the film was delayed multiple times. By the time it was ultimately canceled, the movie was nearly 75% complete. Former Blue Sky staffers spoke out, saying that they had received pushback from Disney about the movie’s same-sex romance and overarching LGBTQ themes.
Yet it wouldn’t have been a shock if Disney greenlighted it themselves, seeing the way they’re going with these themes recently, boasting they’re going to inject more such propaganda into their upcoming projects, for children, of course, and not for adults. Well, this may not be marketed as a Disney movie per se, but, it’s still reason enough to cancel a Netflix subscription, as they’ve long degenerated into one of the worst wokefests of streaming services, with Disney Plus coming in very close. No doubt, Netflix did this just to virtue-signal. Stevenson was also the creator and executive producer of the rebooted She-Ra and the Princesses of Power animated television series on Netflix.
Update: oh, and look who’s serving as a cheerleader for this propaganda from within the comics industry:
It’s
about
damn
time!Congrats to ND and the whole production team. https://t.co/BkDZUevjrW

My my, how fascinating it is whenever somebody like Jim Zub goes along and hints at being quite the SJW he sadly seems to be at times. There’s no need to make these “goodwill gestures” to such SJWs, yet he goes along and does just that, without any consideration how divisive these products really are. Sigh.
