Kakashi Hatake was introduced in Naruto as the leader of Team 7, which consisted of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno. As a Jonin of the village, Kakashi was plenty powerful and feared across the shinobi nations.
As such, by the end of the story, Kakashi ended up becoming the Sixth Hokage of the village, taking the mantle from Tsunade Senju, who led the village in the Fourth Great Ninja War. Although sudden, Kishimoto’s decision to make Kakashi the Hokage of the village was a carefully crafted one, and something that he’d been hinting towards throughout the story.

9 Kakashi Hatake Became A Jonin By The Age Of 13
While becoming a Chunin at the age of 6 was quite impressive, having become a Jonin by the age of 13 just goes to show that there was no limit to Kakashi’s talent from the early days. To put that into perspective, Sasuke Uchiha, another genius, graduated from the Academy at the age of 12. Kakashi went on to lead in the Third Great Ninja War and made quite a big name for himself, acquiring the title of “Kakashi of the Sharingan” and gaining tremendous respect from all over the world.

Thanks to the eye, he became a user of all the nature transformations and could use some of the strongest ninjutsu out there, befitting a Kage.

After the war’s conclusion, Tsunade stepped down, and Kakashi did just as Obito said, living out his friend’s dream.
