MHA Season 5’s Biggest Unanswered Questions

[ad_1]

My Hero Academia Season 5 had all kinds of twists and turns, and it also raises some intriguing questions about the anime’s future.

My Hero Academia Season 5 had many explosive plot twists and developments during its run, and not just for Izuku Midoriya and his classmates. In this season, Izuku, Shoto and Bakugo had a hands-on internship with the flaming hero Endeavor, the Meta Liberation Army emerged from the shadows and Tomura Shigaraki got a big upgrade.

This season’s events left many burning questions in the minds of viewers, with the fates of many heroes and villains alike left undecided for now. New Quirks, new alliances, and even some betrayals have left fans hungry for more, from both a sixth season and the World Heroes’ Mission movie later this year. What are five particularly urgent questions that Season 5 left unanswered after it concluded?

What Will Hawks Do As A Double Agent?

Hawks, the #2 pro hero, convinced the Meta Liberation Army to accept him as a turncoat pro hero, and he found ways to earn the Army leaders’ trust. Hawks used every trick he could think of to feed inside information to his fellow heroes, such as the Destro book he gave to Endeavor, and he watched as the League of Villains and Meta Liberation Army formalized their union in a crowded auditorium.

Hawks is now in a position to destabilize and sabotage the new Paranormal Liberation Front from the inside, but it’s not yet clear how, when or even whether he will do such a thing. He’s the second-best hero around, but even he must be careful before making a move while surrounded by villains who trust him.

Will Endeavor Complete His Quest To Find Atonement?

Endeavor is a complex character, since he entered a Quirk marriage to produce the ultimate hero child, and he tyrannized and abused his family for years to create the perfect heir. This alienated him from his wife, sons and daughter, and now, Endeavor is on a mission to make things right at any cost. Endeavor knows that it’s too late for redemption — instead, he spent Season 5 trying to atone, and let his heroic actions build up good favor with the public and his family.

Endeavor’s quest for atonement is delicate and challenging, but he made some progress in Season 5, and even his hostile son Natsuo was starting to come around. Season 6 may deliver some final answers on whether Endeavor can complete his personal quest and finally begin a newer, better chapter for the Todoroki family.

What New Quirks Will Tomura Shigaraki Get From Dr. Garaki?

Tomura Shigaraki

The My Villain Academia story arc starred Tomura Shigaraki, who in many ways is a dark Izuku Midoriya. He spent Season 5 striving to impress Dr. Garaki and Gigantomachia and prove himself worthy, and he did just that when he defeated the Meta Liberation Army and united with them. Dr. Garaki, who’s almost like Dr. Frakenstein for dead bodies and Quirks, agreed to graft new powers and Quirks into Tomura’s body, making him All For One’s true heir at last.

It’s not yet clear which new Quirks Tomura will receive from this painful procedure, but there’s no doubt he’ll soon become the new #1 villain in the world. He’ll need that power to impress his new Meta Liberation allies, too.

What Other Quirks Will Izuku Unlock From One For All?

Both Tomura Shigaraki and Izuku Midoriya spent Season 5 gaining new Quirks and abilities, albeit from different sources. While Tomura allowed Dr. Garaki to graft new Quirks into him in the hospital, Izuku unlocked the Blackwhip Quirk from One For All, a relic from a previous OFA user.

Izuku learned from All Might that several Quirk Factors were imprinted into One For All as it was passed along, and Blackwhip was the first of seven to manifest. When Season 5 ended, Izuku was only barely getting his new Blackwhip Quirk under control, and he has six more to go. Future seasons may explore the full power of One For All and even turn Izuku into a miniature All For One.

Will Kurogiri Be Restored As Oboro Shirakumo?

Season 5 returned to the max-security prison Tartarus, where All For One and Stain are both incarcerated. Kurogiri was there too, and Shota Aizawa and his old friend Present Mic both visited the prison to confront Kurogiri due to their shared history. Kurogiri the Nomu was once a U.A. student named Oboro Shirakumo, and he seemed to have forgotten his friends Shota and Present Mic as Kurogiri the villain.

Aizawa and Present Mic both made intriguing progress in trying to restore Shirakumo’s personality and memories, but it’s not yet determined whether Shirakumo can be fully restored. For now, Kurogiri’s fate is unknown, and future seasons may determine whether or not the dead can truly come back to life. In these troubled times, it seems that anything’s possible.
