Matt Reeves used Batman Day to give fans an early peek at Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader by uploading a photo on Twitter to commemorate the occasion and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the post-production process. Fans are looking forward to next month’s DC FanDome, when Reeves has promised to reveal “a lot more” about Pattinson’s future role as the Dark Knight, who will be pitted against a slew of Batman’s biggest foes, including the Riddler, Catwoman, and Penguin. While the DC FanDome event will have an exclusive new teaser, it appears that Reeves is itching to reveal more.

While many DC fans still wanted Warner Bros. to make a Batfleck film, most agree that what they’ve seen of Pattinson’s performance in the trailers has been mostly good. Reeves was given the opportunity to show the first teaser trailer for The Batman at last year’s FanDome event, and with the film only six months away, you can see how long the road has been, but from what has been seen so far, it will have been worth it for this completely grounded and gritty version of Gotham’s crime fighter.
“What’s really important about this iteration is that a lot of the other stories are about how he had to master his fear, and master himself, in order to become Batman. And that in that Batman state, he’s sort of his best self,” said Reeves. “For me, what was exciting was not doing that, not doing the origin, not doing what we’ve seen done so beautifully in other movies.”
Michael Giacchino is widely regarded as one of the best composers working today, and he was celebrating Batman Day as well, and took to social media to share a brand new clip teasing some of the music he’s prepared for the film, which you can check out below.

Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer both put their own unique and memorable spin on the Caped Crusader’s soundtrack, so Giacchino has high standards and expectations to live up to.
