The Stone Age Avengers come face-to-face with the Eternals and Celestials in a preview for Marvel Comics’ Eternals: Celestia #1 one-shot.

Marvel Comics’ Stone Age Avengers return in a preview for Eternals: Celestia #1

The Avengers of 1,000,000 B.C.E. were a group of heroes who gathered to protect the Earth from a deranged celestial who fell to Earth. In the issue, it appears that the team is on its quest to go after the celestials and drive them away from the planet. However, the team comes face to face with an Eternal, soon to be adapted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next film.

The prehistoric version of Earth’s mightiest heroes debuted in 2017’s Marvel Legacy #1. The members of the group serve as substitutes for the modern day superheroes. In Thor’s place is the god’s father Odin, while other characters include Sorcerer Supreme Agamotto, the first Black Panther, the Iron Fist Fan Fei and hosts to the Phoenix Force, Ghost Rider spirit of vengeance and the Starbrand power.

This group of heroes has primarily been seen within the pages of Jason Aaron’s Avengers run since it began in 2018. The Eternals, on the other hand, have seen new popularity with the upcoming film set to release. In addition to the previewed issue, the team can be seen in the upcoming Eternals: Thanos Rises #1, Eternals Forever #1, another one-shot set to release in October and Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #4.

Eternals will release exclusively in theaters on Nov. 5. The film will mark the ensemble’s first live-action appearance and be one of the many teams expected to join the MCU soon. A Fantastic Four film is in development, with the X-Men along the way in Marvel’s future.

The preview shows a celestial sitting in a massive throne within an old temple, an eternal appearing to serve this master. When the eternal steps outside, the character is greeted by the prehistoric Avengers, standing close by as Odin makes the first strike against the celestial’s servant, who begins to fight back on the last page available.
